Scope of application
Universal switch is mainly suitable for AC 50Hz, rated working voltage 380V and below, DC voltage 220V and below, rated current 160A electrical lines. Universal switch is mainly used for various control lines conversion, voltmeter, ammeter commutation measurement control, distribution device line conversion and remote control. Universal switch can also be used to directly control the start, speed regulation and commutation of small capacity motor.
Technical characteristics
The universal switch has wide applicability. The existing domestic LW2, LW5, LW6, LW8, LW12, LW15, HZ5, HZ10, HZ12 and other switches as well as the switch on imported equipment. All-purpose switchgear includes padlock switch and dark-lock switch (63A and below), which can be used as power cut-off switch for important equipment to prevent misoperation and control the operation of unauthorized personnel.
Universal switch has small size, multi-function, compact structure, material selection, good insulation, flexible conversion operation, safety and reliability.

Structural Composition
Universal switch is a multi-loop control device, which is composed of several groups of contact components with the same structure. It consists of operating mechanism, positioning device, contact point, contact system, rotating shaft, handle and other components.
The contacts are in the insulating base, which is a bridge structure with double break contacts. The moving contacts are designed to be automatically adjusted to ensure the synchronization of on-off. The static contacts are installed in the contact base. When in use, it relies on cam and bracket to operate and control the closure and disconnection of contacts.
Operating process
The handle is used to drive the shaft and the cam to push the head to connect or disconnect. Because of the different cam shapes, when the handle is in different positions, the powder and situation of the contacts are different, so as to achieve the purpose of the conversion circuit.
Common products are LW5 and LW6 series. LW5 series can control small capacity motors up to 5.5kW; LW6 series can only control small capacity motors up to 2.2kW. For reversible operation control, reverse starting is allowed only after the motor stops. LW5 series universal switch can be divided into self-repeating type and self-positioning type according to the operation mode of the handle. The so-called self-repetitive means that when the handle is moved in a gear by hand, the handle automatically returns to its original position after it is released; the positioning means that when the handle is placed in a gear, it can not automatically return to its original position and stop in the gear.

3. When the maximum temperature is + 40 degree C, the relative humidity of air does not exceed 50%. When the temperature is low, higher relative humidity can be allowed, such as 90% at 20 degree C. Special measures should be taken for the occasional condensation caused by temperature changes.
4. The surrounding environment should be clean, free of flammable and combustible dangerous substances, gas and dust that can damage insulation and metals.
